Job Description

Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking dedicated and supportive Teaching Assistants to join our pool of staff providing valuable assistance across various schools in Grimsby. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about education and enjoy working indiverse educational settings. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting classroom activities, aiding pupil learning, and contributing to a positive school experience. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist teachers in preparing for lessons and creating a conducive learning environment.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning material.
  • Support students with special educational needs, under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Help manage classroom resources and ensure they are available and in good condition.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom times such as lunch breaks and field trips.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour.
  • Encourage students to engage in learning activities and promote positive behaviour.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to student learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
