Job Description

My well established client based in Grimsby is looking for a Software and Systems Developer to work Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm and Fridays 8:30am - 4:30pm.Yor salary will be between £30,406 - £33,949 depending on experience.ROLE PURPOSE:To work as part of the MIS team in all aspects of maintaining and developing the colleges computerised information system. To take an active part in the development of a service provision to students and staff with regard to the colleges computerised informationsystem. To work as part of a team in the development of systems and databases. To take an assigned lead role in the development and delivery of aspects of the service provision for students and staff with regard to the Colleges computerized management informationsystems. To support in the development, set up and maintenance of web-based and other applications. Accept delegated responsibilities for areas of data management and development.DIMENSIONS: Direct reports: None Budget responsibility: NoneMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To take a leading and proactive role in the development, maintenance and enhancement of college systems, databases and web-based portals. 2. The creation and maintenance of in-house software applications (primarily in C# and asp.net), following agreed standards and industry best-practice.3. Project manage development work, ensuring that development is delivered on time, meets the needs of users and is aligned with the department and colleges priorities.4. To take a lead role in the provision of a direct service to management and staff, including the development of systems and the presentation of data in a usable form.5. Provide support with maintenance of the colleges computerised management information systems (both commercial and in-house system) including data entry, data checking and report production. 6. To extract data from MIS databases and present it in a usable form using reporting tools including MS Reporting Services and MS PowerBI.7. To support the development, management and maintenance of the colleges Student Performance Review system.8. To support the college MIS Systems ensuring continuance of a reliable service (including Texting Service, Document Management System, Reprographics System, Registration, and Visitor System).9. To maintain and develop systems to automatically provision staff, students and other accounts.10. To assist in creating and developing systems and web application enhancements and implementing website development and data access across college.11. Work within a project team to ensure that elements of a project are delivered on time and within specifications.12. Research and present concepts to the team and College management.13. To design and develop relational database systems and their web interfaces in Microsoft SQL Server, accepting delegated responsibility for MS SQL databases within the colleges websites.14. To have high standards of attention to detail and work to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data held by the department15. Work to ensure systems are secure, stable and robust.16. To maintain confidential information in compliance with the colleges obligations under data protection legislation.17. To ensure the correct and consistent application of all procedures in line with agreed policies.18. To follow best practice and College policy in all areas of work including health and safety.19. Contribute to safeguarding at all times to ensure the safety and security of and identifying all young people and vulnerable adults who are in contact with the College, with a commitment to safeguarding the welfare of these individuals and protectingthem from any potential harm20. Work to promote and contribute to the Colleges Equal Opportunities Policy.21. Such other tasks directed by the Principal as may be necessary to ensure the continuing development of systems and service.
