Job Description

Senior HGV Technician & Shift Supervisor Location: Grimsby, LincolnshireSalary: £42k + Excellent BenefitsJob Type: Full-Time, PermanentThe Client:Our client is a well-established automotive firm, supplying the full range of commercial trucks, used trucks, trailers and vans and provide outstanding service to their customers.The Role:As a ShiftSupervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing staff, overseeing repairs, and coordinating scheduled services in collaboration with the workshop controller.Responsibilities:

  • Execute repairs to manufacturer standards within specified times.
  • Complete paperwork and sign off work before forwarding it to the Workshop Controller/Shift Leader.
  • Maintain competence through continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Undertake breakdowns, recovery duties, MOT’s, PDI’s, Fit accessories, electrical, and tachograph work.
  • Ensure professionalism and quality in dealings with customers and suppliers.
  • Assist in introducing new methods for improved efficiency.
  • Guarantee the care and safekeeping of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, reporting incidents promptly.
  • Perform other duties aligned with the roles character and level of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of at least 3 years working as a Senior HGV Technician, Shift Supervisor, or in a similar role.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
