We have a fantastic opportunity to join a leading packaging company on a permanent basis as an Operator. You will be a great team player, with strong attention to detail and an aptitude for machinery operation. Determination and a can-do attitude is a requirement for this role, along with enthusiasm to complete tasks to a high standard. Previous experience in a warehouse / production environment is highly desirable. Our client are looking to offer contracts on an immediate start basis to successful applicants. Pay rate: Starting at £10.50 per hour Shift Pattern:Working 7 days over a 14 day period, to include weekends and both day and night shifts as required. (Average of 43 hours p/w)Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the following:* To be able to run a minimum of 1 slitting machine under supervision and the core cutter* To clearly follow work instruction documentation, to ensure production meets efficiencies and throughputs, to the required technical standards.* To run machinery to achieve correct standard of product to optimum production levels and to report any quality machine/quality problems to the management team* To minimise waste levels to meet company requirements and report any deviation to the management team * To complete machinery safety start-up checks.* To deal with stoppage problems quickly and efficiently seeking advice where necessary.* To accurately operate and implement all aspects of the Prism computer system* To segregate and bag waste into the appropriate waste category* To carry out quality checks at required intervals * To complete all required production documentation accurately and on time* To keep Team leader or setter informed of all problems and material deficiencies* Ensure accurate handovers are conducted at the start and end of shift.* Ensure your working area is kept clean and tidy at all times* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing information.* To take a flexible approach to your duties Knowledge, Skills & Experience: * Team player able to see their contribution to the overall service including KPI targets.* Able to work under supervision * A person who can challenge in a supportive manner and work constructively with all functions of the business.* Highly motivated, able to work on own initiative and show pride in their work. * Good timekeeping, flexible when required.* Willing to commit to a program of continuous improvement.* Accurate and good attention to detail* Numerate and understanding of production efficiencies* Able to work productively with others across the business and develop good relationships * Able to provide excellent customer service To apply for this excellent opportunity, please submit your CV ASAP or call Gi Group Grimsby on for more information.Gi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited group of companies includes Gi Recruitment Limited, Draefern Limited, Gi Group Recruitment Ltd, INTOO (UK) Limited, Marks Sattin (UK) Limited, TACK TMI UK Limited and Grafton Professional Staffing Limited.
