Job Description

My client in Grimsby is looking for an experienced Band 5 Blood Sciences Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.Job Role:

  • Monday- Friday
  • You will be required to have good communication and keyboard skills, along with the ability to work under pressure in a busy fast-paced laboratory.
  • You must be able to work as part of a team, but also independently. Once trained the successful candidate will take part in a 24hr shift service, including bank holiday working hours.
  • You must be prepared to participate in Training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD). CPD is a requirement of HCPC registration.
  • The successful candidate will work as a Blood Sciences BMS and rotate between Clinical Chemistry, Haematology and Transfusion. Currently the analytical equipment used includes Roche COBAS 8000, Sysmex XN 2000, Werfen ACL TOP and Bio-Rad IHD. You will beexpected to work in accordance with Path Links Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform routine and specialised testing to meet our Key Performance Indicators.
  • You will be expected to maintain quality standards including quality control, maintenance and audits.
  • You will be expected to run and maintain high value laboratory equipment. You will need to troubleshoot problems that arise throughout the working day and remedy issues should they arise.
Qualifications and Experience required:
  • HCPC registered as a BMS
  • Relevant laboratory experience.
