Job Description

We are looking for Wire Mill Operatives to join our busy distribution site in Barnsley.Salary: Starting at £29,275 per annumLocation: Long Royd, Grimethorpe, Barnsley, S72 7GH Immediate startFull training providedShifts: 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 offTemp to perm Mach Recruitment is recruiting for several Order Pickers to work in a large warehouse and distribution site in Grimethorpe, Barnsley S72 7GH. .The role:As a Wire Mill Operative, you will be working within a factory environment and your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Understand the use of both a digital and analogue micrometer.
  • To be able to set up and run multi holed wire drawing machines.
  • To have a good understanding of descaling and coating process.
  • To work to production plans to meet customer demands etc...
  • To understand rod coil identity, different rod grades and any quality issues that may arise from them.
  • To be able to carry out various quality tests & checks on the finished wire product.
  • Basic data input.
  • Use of an FLT is required, but full training will be given.
  • The job can involve heavy lifting and pulling at random intervals.
About you: As a Wire Mill Operative, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Can start immediately and are looking for long term work
  • To be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be a team player and be able to work on your own initiative.
  • Previous warehouse experience is desirable
  • Able to work up to 12 hours per shift
  • You will be able to travel to Barnsley, S72 7GH.
