Job Description

Are you a Quality Engineer looking to work for a renowned global manufacturer of heavy-duty electrical products used across various applications.We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of continuously improving product quality and customer satisfaction.As a Quality Engineer you will be reporting to the Quality Manager, your primary responsibilities will include enhancing and developing internal manufacturing and assembly processes. Your efforts will also extend to the global supply chain to driveimprovements in final product quality and reduce waste and early life failures.Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and identify quality issues, utilising structured problem-solving tools.
  • Implement permanent fixes for quality problems and generate formal 8D reports.
  • Resolve quality issues related to product failures and collaborate with the relevant business areas to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Focus on proactive quality principles to enhance product quality and achieve "right first time" and "on-time-in-full" deliveries, exceeding customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Expect local and international travel and occasional periods working away from the Greenford base due to our global network of suppliers and customers.
Key Requirements:
  • Enhance "right-first-time" performance and efficiency while eliminating failures.
  • Assist with customer account-related quality and warranty matters, including quality plans, audits, warranty claims, complaints, and concessions.
  • Conduct product and process investigations, data collection, and analysis (PPM).
  • Identify problems, determine root causes, and coordinate the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Compile and assist with Quality and Process documentation, such as Control Plans, Process Flow Maps, FMEA, Control Charts, Visual Aids, and Work Instructions.
  • Conduct internal product and process audits, as well as audits of suppliers.
  • Assist in product tear downs and reporting.
Person Specification:
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, presentation) with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation, with customers, and global suppliers.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently or within teams with minimal supervision.
  • Ideally qualified to degree level in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Background in electro-mechanical/assembly manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5WHY, and Ishikawa.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and process control activities.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 and practical implementation and system integration.
  • ISO 9001/IATF 16949 certified auditor experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding of MRP systems.
  • Understanding of calibration and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Strong team player with the ability to remain calm under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills.
