Job Description

Strategic purchasing role supporting the NPI Buyer Manager to build a supply chain which is of high quality, reliable, flexible and value adding for the companies new product development projects.Proactive role where you will need to hit the ground runningClient DetailsMy client is known globally as creating the finest bikes of its type and this excellence, combined with resurgence in cycling for transport means they are enjoying strong, sustained growth over the last number of yearsDescriptionMain Duties:

  • To analyse he current supply chain base and come up with strategic supply chain plan based on commodities or manufacturing process
  • Source new suppliers
  • Audit suppliers tigether with the supplier quality engineer team and provide report from commerical views
  • Understand requirements of products/ projects, come up with tender plans and run tenders
  • Understand and build shadow costing, analyse the product costing structure and cost drivers
  • Negotiate best cost terms & conditions with suppliers
  • Tactical purchasing duties - vendor set up, raising orders, makinh sure ivoices are paid, parts are delivered in time on full for new projects
  • Work with warehouse team
  • Main link between Design manufacturing engineering, supplier quality and the supply chain teas.
  • Track costs for new projects
  • Other duties that may be deemed necessary by the line manager
    • ProfileThe successful candidate must have a range of the following;
  • Background in a Engineering/Manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of engineering drawings
  • Understanding of manufacturing process of plastic moulding parts and metals
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Excel
  • Must exhibit good interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to prepare, plan and execute on your own initiative
  • Keen attention to details
  • Numerical skills are an absolute must
  • Work as part of a cross functional team as well as on your own initiative
  • Must have a "hands on" approach and a can-do attitude
  • 2-3 years purchasing work experience in manufacturing environment
  • Punctual, methodical & reliable
  • Provide a wide range of solutions
  • Working experience within an ERP environment
    • CIPS qualification desireableJob OfferBasic salary of £35,000 - £38,000
