Job title: Trainee Project EngineerLocation: Great YarmouthSalary: 30-40kTechnique Recruitment Solutions are working alongside our long standing client who are a busy and successful leader the field in marine geophysical surveys and currently have an opportunity for aTrainee Project Engineer.Your experienceDepending on your experience part of your training may include a requirement to travel on-board our vessels to familiarise yourself with our equipment and operational procedures. You will be a proactive and ambitious individual who has knowledge of Geophysicalsurvey acquisition processes. Your experience is likely to have been gained operating in a similar role or as a Geophysical/Survey Engineer or via another discipline. You will ideally be educated to HNC level in a technical or scientific discipline. On completion of your training You willbe able to demonstrate the ability to design survey packages, create project plans, schedules, project budgets and lead cross functional teams.You will have a high level of computer literacy including Microsoft packages: experience of project planning tools and AutoCAD would be advantageous. Due to the nature of our industry and role, you must be able to attain an ENG1 medical and relevant offshorecertificates.The RoleWhat will you doYou will be responsible for coordinating technical activities on assigned projects and be the interface between offshore operations and onshore support functions. Understand the project requirements and define clear goals and objectives to prepare technical programmes of work.Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans. Plan and coordinate multiple technical disciplines to design, installation and commissioning of multi-discipline engineering packages onto vessel operating globally.Support the commercial team with the preparation of bids and quotations by reviewing client scopes of work, providing technical solutions, cost information and schedules.Monitor and control performance at all stages in the project lifecycle, applying effective coaching interventions as required.Provide local and remote troubleshooting and technical support for in field operations. Attend vessel mobilisations to support and coordinate complex mobilisations, this may include sailing with the vessel.Conduct incident and equipment breakdown investigations, identifying root cause and ensuring mitigation plans are created and implemented.Support R&D to introduce new products into the operational environment, which may include sailing for equipment trials.Comply with and promote company QA and HSE procedures.
