Senior Accountant

Location: Braintree area
Job Type: Full-time with 2/3 days working from home (flexible depending on experience)
Experience: 3-4 years in Accountancy Practice
Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/QBE Qualified

A well-established Accountancy Practice in the Braintree area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The firm offers a flexible working arrangement with the possibility of working from home for 2/3 days a week, depending on experience.This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in accountancy practice and a desire to take on a senior position. Day to day of the role:

Preparing year-end statutory accounts and tax services for SME businesses.
Producing management accounts.
Posting journals and handling HMRC and Companies House queries on behalf of clients.
Overseeing the bookkeeping and payroll teams, ensuring accurate double entry bookkeeping to trial balance and completing VAT returns.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

A minimum of 3-4 years of experience within an Accountancy Practice.
ACA/ACCA/QBE Qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
Proficiency in TaxCalc, QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and legislation.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
