Job Description

An experienced and reliable Health and Safety Advisor is now required to support a well known contractor from their Essex head office.The Health and Safety Advisor Responsibilities The successful H&S Advisor will be required to:

  • Carry out all H&S responsibilities
  • Communicate Health, Safety and Environment policies to all employees
  • Promote a strong Health and Safety ethos throughout the company
  • Keep up to date with Health and Safety policies and legislation
  • Ensure compliance with all current legislation
  • Regular site safety inspections
  • Written reports
  • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and accompanies a current insurance test certificate
  • Ensure all company employees are kept up to date via SharePoint
  • Undertake accident or incident investigations and reporting requirements using RIDDOR
  • Compiling HSE statistics
  • Reporting all accident incident information and statistics
  • Making recommendations to company directors on safety matters
  • Investigate safety issues under requirements of occupational Health and Drug Alcohol Management policy
  • Compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001
  • Assist H&S lead in providing safety and environmental advice to third parties and attending PQQ and tender submission meetings
  • Ensure accurate documentation and filing for all HSE documents
  • Liaise with enforcement agencies
To be the successful Health and Safety Advisor you must have:
  • Extensive construction experience
  • IOSH / NEBOSH general
  • CSCS card
  • Strong RC Frame / Civil Engineering or
  • Strong demo background
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
  • Ability to resolve and prioritize matters
  • Previous management experience
In ReturnSalary: £55,000 - £65,000
  • Discretionary bonus
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Travel expenses
