Job Description

The RoleWood/Timber Machinist - Night ShiftGrangemouthJob Purpose: Be an integral part of the Mill Team and contribute to output efficiencies whilst maintaining quality in a safe working environment using visual inspection and good housekeepingInternational Timber is the largest supplier and distributor of sustainable timber and panel products in the UK.   • Unwrap, de-band and prepare incoming packs of timber in readiness for use by the Machinist / Sawyer to ensure efficient throughput of timber.
  • Unload and stack timber from machines to ensure a quality product is presented to the customer in a safe and acceptable manner.
  • Wrap and strap completed timber packs to ensure safe transportation and to maintain quality.
  • Advice the Machinist / Sawyer of any quality concerns regarding the timber produced, as shown in the quality documents, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Keep a good, clean and safe working environment by use of good housekeeping techniques, to ensure quality of product and the safety of people working on or around your area.
  • The safe and efficient operation of a manually operated pull over cross cutting saw ( valid ATO mandatory)
  • The safe and efficient operation of a automatically operated up cutting cross cutting saw ( valid ATO mandatory)
  • The safe and efficient operation of a multi blade rip saw ( valid ATO mandatory)
  • The safe and efficient operation of a Band Re-saw ( valid ATO mandatory )
  • The safe and efficient operation of a Multi headed moulding machine ( valid ATO mandatory )
  • The safe and efficient operation of a CNC controlled Multi headed moulding machine ( valid ATO mandatory )
  • The safe and efficient supervised operation of straight and profile grinding machines
    • Essential Requirements;Candidate must be -
  • City and Guilds qualified Wood Machinist (Or similar recognised Qualification)
  • Willing to work Extra Hours when required Weekday and weekend overtime to cover holidays and increased demand
