Job Description

Want to work for an International business that rewards your success with a higher than average bonus (35%) Ready to run a team of Internal Sales Engineers and mentor them on the road to further successWe are currently recruiting a Sales Office Manager to run a Branch of a major global player in Oil, Gas and process industries.Keywords: Sales Manager/Internal Sales/Sales Office Manager/Technical Sales Manager/Valves/Actuators/Oil & GasJob PurposeTo supervise and lead an internal sales team to generate and create profitable sales from existing and new customers, and to provide support to external sales and clients.Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Day to day supervision of the internal sales team ensuring business and customer priorities/deadlines
  • Act as a deputy to the General Manager
  • Motivate and mentor team members, creating an environment that inspires and engages the team to deliver results
  • Provide periodic budget and forecasting reports
  • Review and provide approval of quotes and sub-purchase orders within the appropriate delegation of authority
  • Liaise with the General Manager and Legal to negotiate contractual terms & conditions, ensuring full adherence to internal and external Trade Compliance regulations
  • Provide technical assistance and support for customers regarding technical specifications of products, and trouble shoot applications as needed;
  • Understand the customers business and determining customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions;
  • Working closely with the General Manager to establish the best commercial and technical offer to meet clients needs
  • Meet the quote and order processing KPIs and maintain CRM data accurately and promptly
  • Ensure all sales procedures and rules are understood and followed
  • Ensure that business systems and tools, including SAP, are used effectively and in line with business requirements
  • Prepare quotations, assimilation of costs, technical compliance, assessment of margins - to ensure the submission of the best commercial and technical bid to win the order
  • Carry out negotiations with clients to assess their needs, tailoring all bids and tenders to suit customer demand
  • Ensure that sales orders are entered in line with agreed procedure and that supplier sub orders reflect the project technical and delivery schedule requirements
  • Ensure that BOMs and work instructions are created and distributed effectively
  • Provide sales support for other colleagues in the team and advise on best practice and protocol
  • Ensure all sales related documentation and communications are filed in line with agreed practices and in accordance with ISO approved quality system requirements
  • Liaise with clients and attend client visits to follow up and secure bids as required
  • Troubleshoot / problem solve issues, escalating any urgent issues immediately to management
  • Support the General Manager and wider team in the execution of our local and international contracts
Education, Experience & Ability RequirementsAny combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.
  • A minimum of five years technical sales experience - with valves and/or automation experience preferable
  • Experience supervising a sales team
  • An understanding of oil and gas industry specifications is preferable
  • Engineering background - ideally mechanical or automation
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of the organisation
  • Proven track record of working to tight deadlines
  • Computer literate - ideally experience with SAP or similar in-house ordering system
  • Educated to HND level or equivalent
