Job Description

SRG have an exciting new role for a QC Microbiology Technician to join a growing life science business in the central belt of Scotland.This is a great opportunity for someone who has just graduated with a Microbiology degree or has some experience and is looking for a new challenge.This is a shift based role involving weekend working so you must be flexible to work these hours.The Role:

  • Carry out Environmental Monitoring and Water sampling/testing
  • Support Microbiological testing of raw materials, in process samples, final products and stability products to GMP
  • Check and report data in line with data integrity and quality standards
  • Assist with stock orders and ensure the lab is equipped with relevant materials at all times
  • General laboratory housekeeping
  • Support the calibration and maintenance of equipment
  • Take part in deviations, investigations and laboratory investigations as required
  • Assist in the update of SOPs, instructions and protocols and other Quality Control documentation
  • Actively contribute to department and site audit readiness requirements including any continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain Quality Control information systems
  • Ensure training tasks are completed as directed by line manager and other members of the team to ensure up to date knowledge and skills
  • Assist other members of the QC department as required
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by your manager in line with Company requirements
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, ideally Microbiology or similar and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge and/or hands on experience of microbiological techniques and environmental monitoring
  • Prior experience of a regulated/GMP environment would be beneficial but not essential as this role is open to graduates
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn and take on training
