Saint-Gobain is present in 66 countries and employs over 180,000 people worldwide, including over 17,000 in the UK & Ireland providing products and solutions to improve everyday lifeWhat will I be doing in the roleOur Risk Coordinator will be vital to our success, but more importantly our safety. In this role you will;

  • Provide assistance in all matters of risk reduction, hazard observation, identification and continual improvement in EHS performance.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with the promotion of EHS practices, initiatives, communications and standards.
  • Report accidents, Near Misses and Hazard Spots in line with OSS procedures and submit reports using SharePoint. With the added responsibility of identifying potential solutions, suggestions and further methods of best practice to reduce and control risks.Assist with the investigation of injury, damage and near miss incidents.
  • Report instances of unsafe behaviour and undesirable attitudes towards the OSS EHS standards, safety rules, targets and objectives.
  • Assist in the conduction, implementation and maintenance of risk assessments, EHS meetings, Tool Box Talks and carrying out routine checks and assessments including maintaining suitable and sufficient EHS records.
  • Be a leader and local advocate for positive influence in all matters of EHS (Supervision).
  • Set standards and lead by example, in following Safe Systems of Work and challenging unsafe behaviour, noncompliances and poor attitudes regardless of colleague grade or level - nobody is above or immune to EHS regulation and standards.
  • Support all 5S projects and disciplines for maintaining a visual workplace and creating better workplace organization.
  • Support EHS Induction on site including completion of documentation, training and site tour of facilities.

  • Experience of creating, raising and reviewing Risk Assessments including maintaining suitable and sufficient EHS records.
  • Creating and Raising Dynamic Risk Assessment.
  • Experience with Permit to Work.
  • Ability to engage with and interact with colleagues at all levels and disciplines, as well as an understanding of other cultures.
  • Experience improving EHS culture and compliance would be an advantage.
