An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 6 Specialist Dietitian who has an interest in working with people with Mental Health conditions and Learning Disabilities. Band 5 Dietitian hours will be considered to offer this as a development opportunity. Part time hours can also be considered.This post will work with our community and inpatient teams in the south (Sunderland and South Tyneside) and central (Newcastle and Gateshead) localities providing dietetic input into teams working with both adults and young people.You will join an established Trustwide Dietetics Service which has 19 Dietitians providing 17.0 WTE, an Assistant Practitioner and a Clinical Support Assistant with excellent links to multidisciplinary teams and nutrition and health promotion initiatives across the Trust. We take great pride in how supportive, welcoming and friendly we are as a team, our aim is to create an environment where every member of our team can succeed.Full support will be provided by experienced Band 7 Advanced Dietitians as well as the other Band 6 Specialist Dietitians working in other specialist areas. All staff are actively encouraged to take part in the development of the Dietetics Service within the Trust as well as their specialist area including audit and promotion of the service through various events and initiatives.Your personal development is important to us and we will give you opportunity to learn and develop the skills needed to work with the patient group.The team have strong links with local universities and we take students from Teesside and Leeds Beckett Universities. We will also start to take students from Newcastle University as they start to come out on placement.
