We aren’t perfect (who is) so we iterate and improve as we go.We love what we do and it’s a truly exciting time to join the team!So, what’s missingWe are looking for someone who is ambitious and loves the techy side of being a technologists but also someone who will ensure that the customer experience is always at the heart of it.We are looking for a Senior Developer with a strong Java engineering background, you will be well versed in approaches to engineering automation and, hopefully with some knowledge of DevOps practices of continuous integration and continuous deployment.Day to day you’ll:We are in the process of implementing a Tribe and Squad model and you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary Squad delivering work in Sprints. You will contribute to standard Agile planning ceremonies (sprint planning, sprint retrospective) as well as Daily Stand Ups. You will support the Scrum Master and Product Owner in managing the Product Backlog and ensuring that key metrics such as time remaining and velocity are understood and followed by the team. Alongside your team you will develop and test software for one of our key digital channels.To be successful you’ll need to bring:

  • Java (1.5+) alongside front end technologies including REACT and node.js.
  • Maven
  • Gradle
  • Jenkins
  • Ant
  • Spring Framework and test tools such as Junit, Soap UI and Postman.
    • The following would be brilliant...but not essential….Experience of engineering at scale and exposure to the full test lifecycle up to and including non-functional (penetration and performance) testing is also advantageous.If you are like us you are probably a multi technologist, any experience of Oracle database technology, application server technology (JBoss, Weblogic) and any containerisation technologies (Docker / Kubernetes) would also be a bonus.As a Senior Developer within Digital Solutions, you’ll be responsible for the design, build, test and documentation of new and amended applications from supplied requirements in accordance with agreed standards, time, cost and quality measures.
