Job Description

Job Title:Electrical Maintenance CraftspersonJob reference:Northumberland/02We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Craftsperson within a leading Healthcare NHS Trust in the North East area. This is a key role within the trust and will be an on-going positionDuties will include:

  • Responsible for undertaking planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and new installation work on healthcare premises on a variety of building services related systems including;
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Building Management Systems
  • Staff attack and nurse call systems
  • Intruder alarm and security systems
  • Electrical installations in accordance with all IEE regulations and relevant standards
  • Electrical infrastructure including Electrical Inspection and Testing
  • Fault finding and repair of plant, controls and equipment
  • Emergency generator testing, maintenance, and fault finding
  • Mechanical building services fault finding repair and maintenance within skill set
  • Heating & Cooling Systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on complex electrical systems including electrical distribution systems, electrical plant, final circuits, control circuits and any other associated engineering asset
  • Undertake the Role of Competent Person as defined by Health Technical Memorandum 06-02
  • Undertake Condition Surveys of Electrical Systems and Electrical Infrastructure within Healthcare Facilities
As part of flexible working, all staff shall be required to support the winter maintenance teams during winter periods that have the potential to impact on business continuity. This will involve assisting the winter maintenance teams in clearing car parksand access roads / footpaths so service users staff and visitors can access their servicesEssential skills / qualifications:
  • Electrical Apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition
  • 2391Desirable
  • Previous experience in hospitals/NHS would be desirable
  • Specialist knowledge in technical developments in estates maintenance
  • Full UK driving licenceTransport needed
  • Standard DBS will be carried out on all successful candidates
