Howdens Joinery is recruiting an Environmental Advisor to join our Safety, Health and Environmental team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join our team who can provide direction, analysis and risk intelligence relating to Timber legality,Timber certification, Extended Producer Responsibility Obligations for Howdens Joinery Group and Environmental aspects within the Supply operations. With a significant multibillion strategic growth plan, it’s a truly exciting time to be part of our growingteam at Howdens.Reporting directly to the Head of SHE, this role will be integral in providing specialist technical risk analysis to Commercial teams and Senior Leadership teams on timber legality assessment and due diligence across a timber sourcing portfolio of circa18,000 sku’s and 230 suppliers globally.The role will be central to the Company’s compliance to producer obligations for Packaging, WEEE and Batteries and, advise the Operational/Commercial teams on their timber FSC / PEFC Chain of Custody and ISO14001 Environmental management system requirements.This role will have responsibility for advising operations across 5 primary sites and the internal transport function.What will I be doing as Environmental Advisor The role is wide ranging and will require the role holder to be involved in, and responsible for;EU / UK Timber Regulation Due Diligence
