Job Description

We are looking for a Wood Machinist to join our Glasgow Depot!Salary: £25,000 per annumHours: Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends, Working 40 hours per weekYou will be working with various wood machinery to produce high quality hardwood and softwood mouldings to meet customer requirements.Wood Machinist Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out daily and weekly maintenance checks
  • Operate and maintain machinery including; Weinig Powermat, Hydromat, 6+9 Head Moulders, and more
  • Produce accurate customer and stock profiles
  • Work within given timescales and produce accurate specifications of orders
  • Minimise damage by handling products appropriately and within Health and Safety standards
  • Good level of housekeeping
  • Other adhoc duties
Wood Machinist Requirements:
  • Previous knowledge and experience of working with Weinig machinery or similar
  • Excellent communication skills with professional approach
  • Self motivated and organised with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Toolroom experience; IT skills, profile grinding, template making and profile drawing - desirable but not essential
