Job Description

Role: UI/Fullstack DeveloperLocation: Glasgow, remote initiallyInitial 12m ContractDaily Rate: Competitive - PAYE onlyPrimary Responsibilities:

  • You will work primarily as a full stack developer with emphasis on front-end development, as part of a collaborative agile development team. Though much of the work is likely to be with the front-end, there is plenty of scope to take an active part in the rest of the technology stack.
  • You will be part of a dynamic team that prides itself in continuously improving its methods and building systems that are critical to the firms tax functions.
  • You will have strong analytical and problem solving abilities, coupled with excellent development, troubleshooting, communication, and organisational skills. You will develop functionality in an iterative fashion, liaising with the business analysts, product owners and other developers within the scrum team.
  • ou will be responsible for continuously improving the quality of our system and codebase through methods including code reviews and refactoring as required. You will be expected to propose optimizations to improve maintainability and testability.
  • You will coordinate with business analysts/QA team to troubleshoot and debug issues, initiate testing, and ensure testing is completed successfully. You will possess the ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
    • Skills required:
  • Strong experience developing UI applications using core front-end technologies (React/Redux/TypeScript/HTML5) Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (primarily Webpack)
  • Some experience developing services using Java 8+/Core Spring/Spring/SQL
  • Familiarity with source-control and CI platforms such as Git/Jenkins
  • SQL and relational databases such as DB2
  • Integration technologies: REST/XHR/JSON
  • Strong experience unit testing and E2E testing (Jest/Puppeteer)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver technical messages to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolution
    • Additional Requirements:
  • Eligible to work in the UK without the need of visa support/sponsorship
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
