Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Planners (Local Review Committee) for initial 6 month contracts with option to extend for a further 6 months on a salary of £33,700-£39,251/annum, generousholiday entitlement. These roles will be hybrid working with 2 days in the office per week.Responsibilities:- Handling local review cases within the regulatory planning framework- Liaising with appellants, agents and architects- Preparing local review reports and presentations for committee- Drafting decision notices and instructions for legal agreements.- Investigate and analyse information in order that technical planning and development advice can be formulated for a range of colleagues, managers and clients for development applications and projects- Supporting the development and delivery of up-to-date development plan coverage for the city- Supporting the progress of development in priority regeneration areas of the city as defined by the organisation’s policy framework and the work programme- Implementing actions as defined by the Enforcement Charter - Participating in innovative projects that facilitate development on the ground.Essential Skills:- Educated to degree level in a suitable built environment subject. - Holds a minimum of Affiliate/ Licentiate/Associate membership of the RTPI or equivalent professional body. - Good IT skills. - Excellent written and oral skills.- Practical experience of delivering the planning system effectively. - Up to date knowledge of the planning system in Scotland.- The ability to work alone or as a good team member.Desirable Skills:- Full chartered membership of RTPI or equivalent- Familiarity with IDOX Uniform case management system. - Evidence of self-development.
