Our client, a highly respected public sector organisation based in Govan require a number of Stores Assistants.The role will be temp for approx. 8 weeks, then going onto a fixed term contract with our client. There may be an opportunity for an extension to this contract.Interested candidates may be invited to an assesment centre on 20th January 2022.This is a four on and four on shift pattern, which includes dayshifts and nightshifts. The shift pattern will rotate throughout the following hours: 6am-4pm, 8am-6pm, 6pm-4am, 8pm-6am.The pay rate will be £11.47 per hour which includes a 15% shift allowance.Excellent benefits include:Free tea/coffee and lunch provided on siteFree on-site parkingFull training and uniform providedGood transport linksAccess to NHS Blue Light discount cardKey worker statusMain Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for ensuring stock is prepared and maintained for detailed storing. Picking andpacking of goods from the Store for onward delivery to end users within the labResponsible for transfer and transporting of goods direct to the lab/end user and between Stockand Bulk Store in a timely and appropriate manner in line with Service Level Agreements.To be the first point of contact for couriers/delivery drivers, updating and management of thereceipt of goods delivered by external suppliers, checking for damaged or missing items and toensure such goods are processed and stored within the relevant stores areas.To ensure that goods are handled and stored in the correct manner according to delivery/storageinstructions, moving stock by hand or with machines, taking time to coordinate location pinch pointsTo carry out duties related to the removal of clinical liquid and glass waste from Level 2 & 3 Labs toground floor waste disposal hold.Responsible for the handling and transporting of various hazardous materials between laboratoriesand relevant storage areas within the site including solvents, corrosive substances and sharps inaccordance with Health and Safety regulations.Maintaining accurate records, manually and using Oracle Inventory Management system, performgoods receipt and issuing transactions, highlighting issues should they arise to the Team LeaderResponsible for general maintenance and cleaning of stores area and equipment includingchecking wear and tear on a daily basis and report faults or damage to the Team Leader.Essential SkillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills -Competent numeracy and literacy skillsAbility to prioritise workload in a rapidly changing high pressure environment -Ability to recogniseproblems in their infancy thereby preventing escalationAbility to use lifting equipment -Capable of working on own or as part of a teamIT competence, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software -Ability to ensure paperworkis completed efficiently and accuratelyManual handling experience
