SQL DeveloperGlasgow office (2 or 3 days per week)Role Purpose: Responsible for the development and reporting of Be-ITs Clients Management Information and Business Intelligence.Using tools and technologies, transform transactional BI data into useful information that will assist informedbusiness decision making by Managers, Executive and Board members. Working with senior members of staff to produceMI packs which monitor key areasof the business and to deliver as visual dashboards including the ability to applywhat-if parameters. Assist in the development of applications that interface with SQL databases.This is mainly an internal facing role, and ability to work with, and understand internal business users is essential.There will be a requirement to also work with external solution providers and technology vendors from time to time. Please notethat you will be required to be in central Glasgow office 2 or 3 times per week so if you cant do that then dont apply.Key Responsibilities Translate business needs to technical specifications. Design, build and deploy BI and SQL solutions. Develop, implement and optimise stored SQL procedures. Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes). Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting. Analyse existing SQL queries for performance improvements. Collaborate with teams to integrate systems. Research required data. Create visualizations and reports for requested projects. Develop and update technical documentation.Key Competencies: Highly motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic individual who is able to work on their own initiative with theability to meet strict deadlines. Ability to re-prioritise in very short timescales.The following experience and knowledge is deemed to be essential to the role: Proven experience as a SQL Developer Industry experience is preferred Background in data warehouse design (dimensional modelling and data mining) In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) andETL (Extract, transform, load) framework Familiarity with Reporting technologies Proficient in SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)Procedure writing, Table designs. Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant fieldAdvantageous to have: Microsoft CRM Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft PowerBIGet in touch to discuss further
