As a Barclays SQL Developer youll work across a range of projects spanning across critical technical deliveries, regulatory projects and platform enhancements requested by the product owner or business users. Youll ensure requirements, functional specifications,and unit testing requirements are well understood. You will participate in all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all software related to these applications. Main technologies used for delivery include MSSQL, JS, HTML5, Rest APIs,QlikSense and Business Objects. What will you be doing Analyzing new requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution and contribute to the overall system design Taking responsibility and ownership of new feature development, documenting designs and communicating them with the team Working on all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all software, related to the core data applications Focusing on good code quality and high test coverage and actively participate in code reviews Designing and implement applications and data flows, for accuracy, timeliness, quality and control Contributing to the delivery of complex projects in collaboration with global teams across Barclays, to develop new or enhance existing systems Setting up and managing development meetings with application leads and business unit users Bring an exceptional appreciation of development best practices, providing ongoing support and training to wider team with upskilling in core reporting technologies What were looking for: SQL development including experience of designing, optimising and maintaining a transactional or datawarehouse system Database queries optimisation, writing efficient functions, stored procedures, complex database queries and data modelling End to end application development with Business Inteligence tooling (QlikSense, Business Object, Tableau or other) Skills that will help you in the role: Experience with other DB technologies: Mongo, Maria, Aurora or PostgreSQL Experience with one or more of the following technologies would be beneficial; HTML5, CSS, Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Node, PowerShell and / or Cloud (AWS, Azure) Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
