Sourcing Manager - 12-month Fixed Term ContractLocation: Flexible office locations in Scotland or South of England Salary: Competitive salaryReference: REQ1559THE ROLEProcurement & Commercial (P&C) are undergoing significant growth within their function and are seeking to recruit an experienced Sourcing Manager, who will support, develop and implement a bespoke procurement strategy within our non-regulated Renewable Developmentsbusiness unit. The Renewable Developments teams activities are focussed on renewable energy where they are heavily involved within the growing UK biomethane industry where biogas from anaerobic digestion is processed for injection into the gas network forheating homes and for transportation fuel.The Renewable Developments teams rapid growth is driving the need for framework partners to support the delivery requirements of a number of high-profile Clients. Following the initial spend profile analysis and growth opportunities, you will have the autonomyto use your initiative to identify and deliver an industry leading procurement strategy which will support the anticipated growth within this business area.As an experienced Sourcing Manager, you will report to the Lead Sourcing Manager and you will be responsible for managing the execution of P&C services. The role will be focussed on demonstrating value leadership, customer service and innovation, to supportour vision of becoming a world class P&C function.Through strategy development and effective sourcing execution, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and safety performance. We want our workplace to be an innovative and inclusive place to work, where every single person feels empowered to achieve professional success.A flexible working structure will be offered with some future travel expected as part of the role, engaging with stakeholder and suppliers across the UK and in SGN offices and depots locations in Scotland, Southern England and Northern Ireland.WHAT YOULL BRINGWith a minimum of five years P&C experience, youll be an enthusiastic procurement professional seeking a role with high profile, high value sourcing team, working across a broad range of categories of goods, works and services, with the aim to achieve significantvalue for the business. This is an integral role in the Sourcing Team who should be able to demonstrate the following:Were also looking for;

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Procurement, Business, Finance or related discipline
  • Evidence of relevant qualifications including CIPS or the RICS membership is desirable
  • Experience in a procurement environment, including areas such as civil and engineering disciplines
  • Spend analytical skills to interpret spend profiles to identify value added opportunities
  • Highly numerate along with highly developed contract / scope drafting and writing skills, ideally with experience gained through interpreting and negotiating complex contracts
  • Excellent IT skills are essential including knowledge of MS Office applications, eSourcing portals, and purchase to pay systems
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritise requirements where necessary. A keen eye to detail is a must as well as the ability to work methodically through a demanding workload
