Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a Developer - Moveable Transactions on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Glasgow or EdinburghAn experienced software engineer with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to collaboratively develop new registers of Moveable Transactions as part of an agile development team within Registers of Scotlands Other Registers domain.Role Responsibilities

  • Work with product and development to deliver new features and support user testing in private beta to refine and improve existing functionality across both ROA and RSP registers.
  • Work with development team and organisation-wide departments to ensure products are fit for production, secure and able to be effectively supported.
  • Work with architecture and development teams in the creation, refinement and support of customer-facing APIs
  • Extend and sustain the high-quality support procedures, dashboards, monitoring and deployment capabilities to ensure the team can continue to improve services via feedback.
Role RequirementsSignificant commercial experience with the following technology:
  • AWS including: CDK, Serverless (Lambda), S3, API Gateway, Cloud Formation and Aurora/Postgres
  • Typescript
  • Modern JavaScript UI frameworks, including React.
  • Strong HTML / CSS skills and an awareness of accessibility considerations
Significant and demonstrable experience in the following areas:
  • Making excellent quality software with other people.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, understanding context and requirements, from diverse areas of a business including Product Management, Service Design, and Operations
  • Developing within GDS or Digital First (or similar) quality standards
Role Details
  • 6 month contract (possibility of extension)
  • Glasgow or Edinburgh based
  • Hybrid Working (2-3 days a week in the office)
  • £400-£450 per day
  • Outside IR35
