CHILDREN & FAMILY SERVICES CrossReach Children and Family Services aim to provide a caring and therapeutic environment which is founded on the principles of positive relationships. Main Function The Service Leader will support the Managing Coordinator and lead a team of staff to ensure that the care and support provided meets the needs of children and their families who use it.The Leader will be the lead manager within the service with responsibility for day to day management and will link with parents, carers and a variety of professionals as required to ensure that the service is meeting expected outcomes.The Service Leader will be required to contribute to achieving the highest professional standards of social care practice and for ensuring that quality standards are met, reflecting CrossReach Christian Ethos and Mission Statement. Main Duties Key ResponsibilitiesTo implement and uphold the aims, objectives, policies and procedures of CrossReach and Children & Family ServicesAs Service Leader your main responsibilities will include
  • Promote and strengthen relational health through actively developing and role modelling positive and genuine relationships
  • To involve children, young people and their families in determining their own outcomes and to encourage participation in service development and improvement.
  • To ensure that children & young peoples individual needs and outcomes are met as per their care plan, and that needs their wellbeing is promoted and safeguarded in line with the GIRFEC wellbeing indicators:
    • Safe
    • Healthy
    • Active
    • Nurtured
    • Achieving
    • Respected
    • Responsible
    • Included
  • Monitor the health, wellbeing, safety and security of children and young people and their environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategies that support care plans
  • Monitor and Contribute information for Assessment, Childrens Reviews, Childrens and any other relevant meetings.
  • To ensure the effective delivery of service including
    • Ensure Assessments & Re-assessment process is adhered to
    • Monitor & Evaluate individual and service outcomes in line with Getting It Right For Every Child
    • Safe working environment through balanced staff rotas
    • Significant Adverse Events are recorded & monitored
    • Support Managing Co-ordinator to provide a quarterly Management report for Head of Service
  • Promote equality for all individuals.
  • Support children and young people when they are emotionally, psychologically and socially isolated and distressed.
  • Promote communication with children and young people where there are communication difficulties.
  • Empower children and young people to make use of available services and information.
  • Implement and monitor CrossReach policies relating specifically to
    • Attendance Management
    • Health & Safety
    • Child Protection
    • Safe Recruitment
    • Staff Supervision and ADP
  • Promote the health and well-being of all children, young people and adults in a sensitive and caring manner affording them dignity and respect.
  • To manage and support Team Leaders.
  • Manage and support changes in service delivery in line with the strategic vision and direction of the organisation and where the best interests of children and families are at the heart of all decision making.
  • To cover the Service on call rota, providing out of hours support.
Planning and DevelopmentTo assist the Managing Co-Ordinator in the formulation of a yearly plan and work as a member of the management team to ensure that priorities outlined therein are met.Quality AssuranceTo assist the Managing Co-Ordinator in all aspects of Quality Assurance and to be responsible for the quality of care experienced by children and young people.Financial and Administrative ManagementTo assist the Managing Co-ordinator as required in the preparation, management and monitoring of the annual operating budget.To support Managing Coordinator with daily management of operational budget.To ensure that records are maintained in line with CrossReach policy.To contribute to the maintenance of systems to gather, record and store information/data.Personnel ManagementTo assist in the recruitment and selection of staff as required.To be responsible for the direct supervision of staffTo participate in HR related matters as requiredTo assist in induction training, ongoing training within the unit and be accountable to the Managing Coordinator for the training and development of team members.To support the team leaders with regular team meetingsProfessional DevelopmentTo keep abreast of current developments in the social care field in order to ensure that the highest standards of care are achieved.To attend meetings, training courses and seminars as required.LiaisonTo assist the Managing Co-Ordinator in the promotion of services and to maintain close working relationships, as required, with all relevant professionals involved in the care of children and young people.Maintaining effective communication, contact and co-operation with relatives and friends of children & young people.General Management To undertake responsibilities in relation to health and safety as delegated by the Managing Co-ordinatorTo be responsible for a particular specialist area of work as directed by the managing co-ordinator.To undertake other duties as may responsibility fall within the parameters of the post as delegated by the Managing Co-Ordinator To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including sharing with others the leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy
