As a Barclays Senior Java Integration/ API Developer in the Data & Analytics team, you will provide a sustainable data platform infrastructure for Wealth and the Private Bank to support the multiple channels of their business areas. This includes datawarehousing as well as provisioning services to regulatory, colleague, digital, client reporting and analytics channels that are compliant with GDMS data controls and technology governance controls of the bank. What youll be doing Actively participating within one of the Integration/ API scrum teams Taking business and functional requirements and translating them into technical and functional designs for APIs, adapters and micro-services Producing and maintaining application code along with accompanying automated test suites Testing of code, and providing assistance to testing cycles ensuring that defects are resolved Contributing towards central API forums, Best Practice, etc. Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues Partaking in all aspects of an iterative Agile development lifecycle Developing and maintaining good relationships with the application support teams to ensure effective delivery of projects into the production environment What were looking for: Excellent hands-on technology skills: Java, Linux, Databases, Web services, REST, MQ, Kafka Proven ability to develop enterprise level software solutions using tools and techniques such as Source Control, Build Tools (e.g. Maven), TDD, etc. Self-driven, proactive with demonstrable initiative and problem solving abilities Excellent communication skills Skills that will help you in the role: Cloud Development, particularly AWS Cybersecurity and cryptography knowledge Experience of deployment tools, particularly Chef NoSQL Database experience, such as MongoDB Where will you be working Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
