Job Description

We have a current opportunity with an inspiring public sector organisation for a Senior IT Support Officer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Glasgow. The role:

  • You will be responsible for taking on day-to-day IT management and operations within the organisation.
  • Networking and Infrastructure responsibilities - for example, working with on prem servers (Windows 2012 R2) and Azure.
  • User Account management - 0365 Admin, set up and monitoring, ServiceDesk Management
  • Hardware responsibilities: Set up and maintenance and troubleshooting laptops, PCs, Mobiles, tablets
  • Purchasing/budget awareness
  • Enrolling devices into MDM (InTune or TinyMDM)
  • Deployment and management of MS licences
The ideal candidate will have experience with most of the following:
  • On Prem Servers - Windows 2012 R2
  • Azure server set up, maintenance and monitoring
  • Azure VM
  • HyperV / VMWare
  • Networking - UBNT (Unifi), Switches and WAPS, Cisco
  • VOIP Phone System - SIP trunks, Software and Linux on prem server
  • Active Directory on Prem and entra
  • Group Policy, DCHP, DNS
  • Ability to Set up, maintain and troubleshoot laptops, PCs, mobiles and tablets
  • Public sector / third sector experience would be an advantage
The details:
  • 3-6 month contract Outside IR35
  • up to £320 daily rate DOE
  • Glasgow based - 3-4 days on site in the office initially, reduced to 2-3 days after exposure with organisation and how they operate
  • Must have own car + driving licence
  • 7 hour work day - 35 hours per week
  • The right to work in the UK - no sponsorship can be provided
