Senior Accountants - Financial Reporting & Planning and Customer Funded ContractsWould you like to play an important role in supporting a FTSE-100 defence companyWe currently have vacancies for qualified Senior Financial Accountants at our site in Scotstoun (Glasgow).As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be working with the Finance Function Operational and Leadership teams, and wider Business Stakeholders, providing financial support and advice to ensure high quality, accurate and timely financial reporting. You will be providing essential management information that aids financial decision making and delivery of Business targets.Reporting into the Finance Manager, these are exciting and highly visible opportunities that will provide you with exposure to Senior ManagementYour main responsibilities as a Senior Financial Accountant will involve: Reviewing & challenging Forecast & Budget updates and taking a proactive role in the Monthly Management and Project Review processes.Completing all short, medium & long term forecasting as required, with significant focus on variance analysis and consequential impacts of forecast changesParticipate in the coordination of Reporting activity for both Customer Funded Projects and the wider Business, and working with the wider finance team & other functions, to ensure all deliverables are achieved to time and qualityProviding Finance support, challenge and advice through active engagementCompliance with all elements of BAE Systems Finance Policies and Financial ControlsYour skills and qualifications:Essential: Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ICAS) with experience of either financial or customer contract accountingGood analytical skills and previous involvement in budgeting and forecasting, with demonstrable ability to present data as informationCompetent user of MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint. Able to manipulate and present data for a range of end usersDesirable: Knowledge of Accounting Standards and reporting requirements applicable in Long Term Construction Project based Business, with SSRO reporting exposure an advantageExperience of using ERP systems, ideally SAP and planning analytics (TM1) in a reporting environmentKnowledge of Statutory Accounting process and outputsExposure to audit, as lead or participant, in finance or other environmentExposure to audit, as lead or participant, in finance or other environmentWhat were looking for in you:You will have excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to influence across the business organisation including senior management.
