Job Description

Sales / Purchase Ledger Assistant required. Our client is a leading timber engineering business dedicated to providing high-quality solutions to clients across various sectors. With a focus on innovation and excellence, we strive to deliver exceptional serviceand products to meet our clients needs.Position overview:

  • Raise sales invoices and pro forma invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Post and allocate receipts to customer accounts
  • Address and resolve any invoice queries promptly
  • Utilize credit insurance platform efficiently
  • Conduct debt collection activities through phone and email communication
  • Manage high-volume purchase ledger, including a significant number of international invoices
  • Process invoices, matching them with purchase orders and Goods Received Notes (GRNs) as necessary
  • Reconcile monthly supplier statements to ensure accuracy
  • Resolve invoice queries with suppliers in a professional manner
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing ones
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payment lists for authorization
  • Reconcile company credit card transactions and handle staff expenses
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in sales and purchase ledger functions is essential
  • Proficiency in Sage 200 and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in the construction sector is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Strong numeracy skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Remuneration
  • Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Working Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (flexible start time between 8:00 am - 8:30 am)
  • Lunch Break: Half-hour lunch break
  • Holidays: 32 days holiday, with one additional day after 3 years and another after 5 years
  • Benefits: Life cover provided immediately (2x salary), company will pay for comprehensive PMI plan
