Job Description

Our public sector client, based in East Renfrewshire has a temporary requirement for an experienced Project Officer. Role will be based in Barrhead area, for approx. 2-3 months. .Hours of work will be Mon - Fri and based on 37 hours per week. Pay rate will be £18.00 per hour.Duties:

  • To lead the Mixed Tenure Scheme, comprising of multi-skilled teams such as Painting and Hit Squad. In addition, responsible for Customer Care within the scheme
  • To monitor performance and employee and financial resources to ensure effective use, manage budget profiling and review and develop MTS procedures
  • To liaise with contractors within the established procurement framework to agree work specifications, standards and monitor quality of work and expenditure
  • Ensure the effective use of management information systems to establish, monitor and review key performance indicators in relation to the activities covered by the post
  • Ensure the day-to-day operational delivery of MTS activities in-line with statutory obligations, service delivery targets and strategic objectives, as directed by the Housing Services Manager.
  • Ensure effective liaison with tenants, citizens, businesses, or any other interested groups in the community and to represent the Housing Service at public meetings, professional or technical forums as directed by senior staff within housing
  • Liaise and build strong relationships with Housing Services Management, Housing Officers, Technical Officers, ERC Procurement team, Elected Members, residents, tenants, Tenant Resident Associations, ERC departments and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the management and monitoring of employees and resources deployed at a local level in the provision of the above activities. These activities must comply with statutory requirements and directly impact upon both internal and external customers
  • Identify additional funding opportunities and develop where appropriate supporting bids for such funding
  • To ensure the implementation of the health and safety policies and the compliance with all statutory requirements to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of employees, the public and others
  • To take personal responsibility for the good use of resources appropriate to the job level and work area
Skills:
  • HND or equivalent in project related Experience
  • Experience of managing a team employed in the delivery of manual, labour intensive services in an external environment
  • Experience of managing compliance with health and safety issues related to environmental works
  • Excellent supervisory/management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate at an appropriate level according to the audience
  • Excellent negotiation & influencing skills
  • Ability to utilise Microsoft Office applications e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint
