Our client is looking to recruit a Project Accountant on an initial 6 month contract. The Project Accountant will support the Lead Finance Business Partner, to provide management information for both strategic and operational purposes, and undertake financialplanning, budgeting and forecasting, risk analysis and business plan appraisal, driving forward financial management strategies and plans.Client DetailsOur client is a market leader in their fieldDescriptionThe role will entail but will not be exclusive to:- Develop and action changes to ensure that reporting of management information is continuously evolving to requirement- Provide accurate, timely and clear management information covering financial performance, financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for the project- Manage timetables and processes to support the project to ensure effective and timely delivery of budgets and forecast- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, applying appropriate professional standards and demonstrating a culture of ownership and accountability to ensure the delivery of excellent service- Monitor and report on focus project spend each month- Support focus project managers as point of contact for all finance queries- Analyse project spend between capital and revenue in accordance with accounting standards- Liaise with Finance Systems team to ensure that coding is current and fit for purpose- Contribute fully to the FBP team to optimise the impact of Finance across the business and deputise for Senior Finance Business Partners as requiredProfileThe successful candidate requires as a minimum:- Professional accountancy qualification on Qualified by experience- Extensive experience working in a finance role within a large and complex organisation- Significant knowledge and experience of financial and budgetary control systems- Significant cost and income allocation and capital accounting experience- Considerable experience of budgeting, forecasting and reporting activity for large business unitsJob OfferAn exciting contract during a period of change in the organisation
