As a Barclays Application Support Engineer, you will be joining Group Technology Service Management team within Functions Technology area. In your new role, you will be Working between the Level 1 team and the development team. You will also act as a technicalSME and handle escalation for all technical matters for Salesforce platform. In your new role, you will be responsible for ensuring incidents are resolved within defined SLAs and OLAs by the SMEs and designing fixes where required. What will you be doing• Performing incident and problem management activities, including working closely with technology and business stakeholders to provide innovative and tactical solutions • Making changes into Production and DR environments in partnership with our development and technology teams • Leading and identifying independently, repetitive or time-consuming processes that can be automated, especially where they benefit multiple business areas • Creating required knowledge base documentation required to assist in applications, including appropriate sign-off where required • Coordinating various activities across the global team, including handover of issues, knowledge exchange, training and engagement • Providing Off-hours on-call will be required for this role on a rotational basis • Working closely with the wider global Compliance technology teams to ensure best utilisation of resource and allocation of BAU work • Contributing to building Knowledge base and overall good health of the application What were looking for:• ITIL awareness - Incident and problem management, stake holder management etc • Salesforce experience is must. Preferably salesforce certified • Good Knowledge on databases like SQL, PL/SQL or Oracle and UNIX, Shell/Perl scripting and Python scripting knowledge • Exposure to scheduling Tools like Autosys or Ctrl-M Skills that will help you in the role:• Exposure to programming (J2EE) • Hadoop (HDFS,MapReduce) implementation, management of Hadoop cluster, loading of data from disparate data sets, and management of hBase • ETL (AbInitio) experience • Excellent communication skills Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
