Job Description

PRINCIPAL HIGHWAYS ENGINEERWe are currently looking for a Principal Highways Engineer to join our clients Engineering Team in Glasgow. You will work on major prestigious projects within the Region and across the UK, enabling you to advance your career, whilst giving you the freedomto achieve personal growth and development. You will be provided with the opportunities to enable you to succeed and support you to reach your potential.You will assist to prepare bids for new work and develop robust costed proposals. You will be accountable for the quality of all team outputs and deliverables, taking appropriate action to rectify quality issues and manage performance of team members.The Principal Highways Engineer role specifically requires a detailed knowledge of highways detailed design for projects valued from £10,000 to £1m plus to RIBA3 and RIBA 4 level. You will have the ability to develop and initiate detailed designs from inceptionthrough to completion, including all CDM and health & safety requirements. You will have a good knowledge of NEC contract requirements and have excellent commercial awareness.A bit about the Principal Highways Engineer role:

About you:
  • Chartered or actively working towards Chartered
  • Demonstrable UK experience as Highway Engineer in local authority and/or private sector
  • Wide range of skills and projects including highways, cycling and public realm
  • Ability to determine appropriate solution with innovation and value engineering
  • Knowledge of and engagement with the civil engineering industry
  • NEC3 Experience
