Pipeline TechnicianLocation: GlasgowSalary: £43.7k - £44.4k per annum (Dependent on skills & qualifications)Reference: REQ3704Do you want to be a part of an innovative and supportive teamWe are recruiting for a Pipeline Officer to join our Maintenance Department, based in Glasgow reporting to a Pipeline Engineer. The role will include involvement in all aspects of high-pressure pipeline maintenance, contributing to the continued long-termintegrity of SGN’s high pressure pipeline network.What will you be doing day to dayYour routine workloads will include the monitoring, maintenance and remediation of the Cathodic Protection systems in place on pipelines.Interacting with all Stakeholders on pipeline safety, including landowners, farmers, local authorities and 3rd party contractors.Carrying out routine survey work on the pipeline network.What you’ll needExcellent communication skills to ensure positive interactions with all stakeholders.Good understanding of the high-pressure pipeline network owned and operated by SGN.A flexible and positive attitude to work, self-motivated to deliver work to a high standard.Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and maps.Awareness of procedures relevant to Pipelines, particularly; IGEM TD/1, SGN/PM/MAINT/5, SGN/PM/ECP/2 & SGN/WI/SW/2.A strong understanding of the principals of Cathodic Protection is essential.You must be physically fit, capable of walking long distances over rough ground.Full driving license is essential.You will be expected to take part in the Maintenance standby as required.If you don’t have all the qualifications, we would still love to hear from you… we provide our own specialised learning and development programs, providing access to learning tools to help you acquire the skills needed to excel in our environment.
