Job Description

JA1309 - Mobile Technician (Legionella/water)Location – Central ScotlandType Permanent Full-timeSalary - Competitive + van (business use only)OverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Mobile Legionella/Water Technician to join our client’s environmental team. The successful candidate will provide Legionella PPM and associated works to various commercial and industrial contracts.Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To carry out the following works in accordance with the requirements of ACOP L8, BS6700 and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations:-
  • Hot and cold-water temperature monitoring
  • Shower head cleans and disinfections
  • Calorifier base flushing/calorifier temperatures, including flow and return
  • Calorifier internal inspections
  • Water sampling
  • Tank and down water services disinfections/chlorination
  • Dead-leg removal
  • Cold water tank replacement (not plumbing in)
  • Cold water tank lining
  • Cooling tower clean and disinfections
  • Drawing of water systems schematics and the preparation and completion of job sheets
  • TMV Testing
  • Improvements/upgrading of domestic systems to fall within A.C.O.P L8 guidelines
  • Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments and carrying out monitoring for the control of legionella
  • Additional duties such as inspections of water storage tanks, hot water boilers and air conditioning systems
Skills & ExperienceEssential
  • Sound understanding of requirements under Health and Safety Legislation
  • Use of PDA and computer literate
  • A good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to interface with people, including clients, at all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise tasks
  • Ability to be a self starter within a team environment and lone working.
  • Must be capable of working in confined spaces/at height
  • Background in legionella Control with several years’ experience in site monitoring and testing.
  • Understand all the legal requirements
Desirable
  • Legionella (L8) certification
  • Knowledge of Pool plant and equipment
  • Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification.
