LecturerGame Art and Animation SAE Institute, Glasgow campusPermanent, part-time: 20 hours per weekUp to £26,000 per annum, (to be pro-rated @ 0.5 FTE), subject to teaching and industry experienceWe are looking for knowledgeable and engaging educator to teach Game Art and Animation modules and common content, particularly at level 4 and 5 in Higher Education programmes at SAE Institute, Glasgow. The ability to bring current industry expertise tothe team is especially desirable.Key responsibilities Facilitating learning through a variety of methods. Planning students learning experience through lesson plans and deliverable course material. Timely marking of assessments, providing useful and on-going feedback to students. Engaging in recruitment and outreach events through the year.Essential Criteria Degree in a related field, and/ or a PG Cert Education/HEA Membership, and/or significant industry experience. Experience in the game art production pipeline and relevant software (3ds Max, Unreal Engine, Maya, Arnold, Zbrush, Substance Suite, and Adobe Suite). Highly proficient in 3D modelling and texturing, (high and low poly). Experience in asset development, animation, lighting, and rendering. Experience with concept development, project management, post-production skills, and understanding animation theory. Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills. Must have rights to work in the UK and live within commutable distance to the Glasgow campus. This role is fully-Campus based.Desirable Criteria Teaching experience, including the creation of session plans and preparation of materials. Experience in project-based learning, flipped classroom and or other similar contemporary forms of facilitating learning. Experience of rigging systems, visual scripting and VFX workflows.
