Job Description

IT Engineer£28,000 - £35,000 DOE + company vehicle We are looking for an experienced IT Engineer for our Unified Communications client who are going through another great period of growth at the moment. This is a hybrid role working from their company offices in Glasgow and also out at their many clientspremises, with the key objective of the role being to work to SLAs in providing both remote and onsite support to their customers and delivering exceptional customer support and service delivery.Job responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving and managing inbound calls and emails to the ticket system
  • Personal management of a selection of individual clients, including:
- customer liaison- site visits- regular health inspections- service recommendations
  • Mobile device swaps
  • Deliveries of equipment
  • Support (both proactive and reactive) of internal systems, such as SharePoint, Windows Server, Horizon phones, Windows Desktops, laptops and MS Office
  • External client systems, including Windows (7 > Windows 10)
  • General Hardware and Software support
  • System Maintenance including repairs, new installs and virus removal. * Windows Server (2008 onwards)
  • Occasional work with legacy Microsoft Platforms
  • Panasonic Phone Systems
  • Analogue Lines
  • ISDN / SIP systems
  • Microsoft Office 365 System administration
  • Networks and Routing, in particular, Ubiquiti UniFi and AirMax Wireless Technology, Ubiquiti Switching and Routing & CCTV systems
  • Site work, including:
- General support and maintenance of systems.- Maintenance of customer relationships.- Basic cabling and termination, installation of cabinets, trunking etc.- Fault discovery and resolution.- Liaison with customer 3rd party IT maintainers; other local MSPs and software /hardware vendors.- Installations, assessments of need and production of basic quotations / proposals- Regular communication and updates to team / leadership
  • Participation in on-call activities, weekend work and overtime may sometimes be needed according to business need.
Candidate requirements include:
  • Being able to show evidence of significant Windows Desktop support experience in a small business/domain or enterprise capacity
  • Have excellent experience troubleshooting issues with business IT hardware; preferably including basic Windows Server Administration
  • Demonstrate a broad interest and technical ability with mobile hardware such as smart phones and tablets
  • Have good experience dealing face to face with customers
  • Be able to demonstrate clear, concise communication skills
  • The applicant ideally should be able to demonstrate accreditation in a relevant area. (Or other relevant technical qualification)
  • Experience of administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Small Business Servers or Microsoft Server 2008 - 2016 an advantage
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is ESSENTIAL as travel to customer premises is required
