Job Description

Page Personnel are delighted to be exclusively partnered with our client in recruiting a Finance Analyst. This role will hold responsibilities for preparation and submission of VAT returns for all OpCos. Ownership of the VAT strategy with OpCos and external advisors. First port of call for HMRC queries and ensuring timely receipt of VAT repayments. Analytical assistance with ad hoc financial reporting within the AR and AP teams.Client DetailsOur client is a market leading Global Business with a head office in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. This organisation also supports WFH.DescriptionThe successful candidate will likely have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of VAT returns for all OpCos
  • First port of call for HMRC queries - maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of VAT treatments
  • Training Accounts Payable team on VAT postings as and when required
  • Submitting approved VAT returns with HMRC
  • Ensuring timely receipt of VAT repayments
  • Ownership of VAT strategy with OpCos and external advisors
  • Developing the financial analysis side of the VAT function
  • Assisting the SSC Finance team with analytical duties relating to financial reporting, primarily covering the AP and AR functions
  • Able to assist with ad hoc projects as and when they arise, showing a determination to adhere to deadlines and satisfy internal/external stakeholders
  • Maintaining process workflows, procedures and management information in relation to the role.
  • Continually reviewing the processes in place to aide maximum efficiency of the finance function
    • ProfileThe successful candidate will likely have the following profile:
  • Numerically & IT literate Intermediate MS Office skills, MS Excel.
  • VAT knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and ability to work independently
  • Informs their supervisor frequently and openly about their work and the progress that they are making
  • Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
    • Job OfferThis role offers a competitive salary between £24,000-£27,000 plus benefits.
