Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Environment Briefing & Correspondence Officer for an initial 6-month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £18.57/hour PAYE (Inside IR35). Thisrole will be hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office. Responsibilities:- Collate information and draft responses to First Minister’s Questions, Parliamentary Questions, FOI/EIR, correspondence, emails and press lines relating to environment and sustainability issues.- Providing high quality and timely advice, through briefing and submissions to Ministers and senior managers on the environment and sustainability work the unit undertakes. Oversee the collation of all briefing material within the team. Seek and provide relevantcontributions from other teams/directorates within the organisation and liaise with Private Office as required.- Monitor and issue responses to queries received via the Low Emission Zones and Blue Badge enquiries inboxes.- Maintain project management and correspondence records and track actions across the Environment & Sustainability team – includes seeking weekly updates from team members and updating as necessary. - Support B3’s/team head with various work streams as required. Tasks vary from proof reading, minute taking, attendance at stakeholder meetings, assisting with creation of documents including PowerPoint, consultation development, supporting the delivery ofLEZs in Scotland.- Support the production and delivery of the communications plan around air quality and low emission zones.- Support the updating and maintenance of the Scottish LEZ website working with our website provider- Lead responsibility for designing and maintaining the environment and sustainability (operational and project) elements of the website. This will require coordination with our Communications team. Essential Skills:- Track record of producing, or contributing to the production of, timely and concise, high quality written policy documents, reports and/or guidance.- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise your own workload and competing demands to ensure deadlines are met.Desirable Skills: - Degree level English or Communications would be preferred.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.Required skills
