We support young people who face significant challengesengaging in learning to assist them with a successful transition into college, to adapt to college life at enrolment stage and supporting them throughout their time at college, both within the college environment and within their local community.STAY project is focused on working alongside Edinburgh College to improve retention rates for groups of young people, particularly those in the age 16-19 category and who are care experienced. Working with local services who offer support, for example,HUB for Success, MCR pathways, Capital City partnership.Ourmentoring service works alongside the current Student Services provision within the collegestructure;however, the role will provide additional support both inside the college support and outside the college campus.As an Employment Facilitator, you will support young people in college and cover 4 college campuses. all based in Edinburgh.Some engagement may be delivered remotely during the current COVID restrictions. The role is a blended approach split betweenhomeworking,college based and within the community.YouwillhelpourYoungPeopleby:-Providing pre-entry, on course and pre-exit guidance to students at college.-Developing student financial capability.-Enhancing student employability.-Delivering appropriate workshops to both staff and students.-Arranging a programme of cross campus events in support of student development and progression.-Working in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and other external partners to enhance student potential for positive destination.-Supporting care experienced students and student carers to sustain their course through management of a caseload.-Tracking, monitoring and collating data and information on the progress of the students on caseload.-Maintaining appropriate records, monitoring performance, producing written reports and case studies, and presenting these as necessary.What are we looking for fromyou:-To be committed, passionate and motivated.Weare, and we want you to be too.-To be educated to SVQ 3/HNC levelorhave previous experience in a similar setting.
