Job Description

DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure as Code - Python - Storage Technology - 12 month contractAre you a highly skilled and motivated individual with a passion for DevOps & Automation using Python If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a busy global team based in Glasgow.You will be working in a DevOps capacity playing a pivotal role in designing, developing and implementing highly available and scalable automation tools to manage enterprise scale Storage solutions.Your responsibilities will encompass developing tools for Storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing, and inventorying, among others. You will also collaborate with third-party vendors to integrate new Storage technology and develop in-house applicationsthat will become integral parts of their global technology platform.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop highly available and scalable solutions, ideally for Infrastructure / Storage environments.
  • Architect and develop in-house applications for infrastructure solutions
  • Design tools for problem management and preventive maintenance.
  • Understand Storage virtualisation, automation, and provisioning for large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Work with distributed and scale-out file systems and software-defined storage solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in infrastructure automation and observability.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a global team.
  • Listen to customer requirements and articulate technical solutions effectively.
  • Deploy, operate, and administer Linux operating systems in an enterprise-level ecosystem.
Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, with experience of Java an advantage.
  • Experience with SDLC best practices in large software development projects with solid knowledge of Object Oriented Concepts.
  • In depth knowledge of Storage Technologies, Networking protocols and Connectivity as part of enterprise-scaled environments
  • Experience of DevOps and Automation would be preferred
  • Excellent organisational and English communication skills.
