Job Description

Job title: Data ArchitectLocation: Glasgow, Portsmouth or Filton, we also offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangementsSalary: £60,000+ depending on experienceWhat you’ll be doing:

  • Design and implementation of the integration layer within the established Enterprise Integration & Data Warehouse (EIDW) platform
  • Design and maintenance of conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Delivery and ownership of a Data Architecture strategy that underpins the Naval Ships strategy and objectives
  • Establish standards for Data Architecture and provide Data Architectural governance across all technology platforms throughout the organisation
  • Informs and adopts data modelling standards, guidelines, best practices and approved modelling techniques and approaches
Your skills and experiences: Essential:
  • Extensive experience of working within data environments
  • System integration, including interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques
  • Experience of architecture and governance of enterprise wide solutions
  • Conveys complex technical and business issues to diverse audiences
Desirable:
  • Honours degree or equivalent in relevant disciplines
  • Experience of working in a strategic role
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL

It will lead on the development of the integration layer within the Enterprise Integration and Data Warehouse ensuringthe needs of the Data and Analytics Competency Centre (CC) and the wider business are satisfied.It will provide functional leadership for Data Architecture as a key business capability and will ensure data architecture expertise is developed appropriately across the IM&T function and the Data and Analytics CC.Why BAE Systems This is a place where you’ll be able to make a real difference.
