As a Barclays Data Architect, you will be joining data strategy team within Private Banking area. You will be instrumental in supporting the delivery and execution of a data strategy for the Private Bank to enable the delivery of business value by drivingimproved consistency, reliability, and quality of data across the firm. Your role will include designing, sustaining, and enhancing Barclay data architecture. This will include how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entitiesand IT systems. What will you be doing Developing thorough knowledge and ability to document Barclays Data landscape, assist in the ability to identify Critical Data Elements associated with key KPIs/KRIs Recording Data Lineage to authoritative golden sources (via automated technical lineage toolsets and business lineage) Cataloguing business and technical metadata for BUK in the strategic toolset for business glossary/metadata repository Documenting and building the current state data architecture landscape (both high level and detailed) of the Private Bank Defining the target state data architecture for the Private Bank and working with CTO, solution architects and portfolio leads establish a plan to move from the current state Working with COO and business stakeholders to ensure that the strategy aligns to the business requirements Working with the various Change Projects to ensure new delivery meets Data Architecture Standards and Records Management Standards Supporting the continuous improvement of the control environment for data to be produced and used in a way that drives continuous improvement of data management What were looking for: Proven capability to perform as a Data Architect or an experienced Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect Broad knowledge of the concepts and purpose of; Principles, Policies, Standards and Guidelines, and how they should be applied/mandated Awareness of concepts of Relational Data-Base Management Systems (RDBMS); Big Data; Extract Transform & Load (ETL); Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics toolsets; Kafka Excellent attention to detail Skills that will help you in the role: Experience in multiple data platforms ranging from mainframe, RDBMS, Big Data (Hadoop) and NoSQL to be able to understand practical limitations in implementing standards A good working knowledge of data platforms operating on Cloud Infrastructure - AWS in particular Experience of working in large scale transformation programmes with proven ability to provide solutions to complex problems A good working knowledge of the Group Records Management Policy and Standards would be preferable Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
