Job Description

Cyber Security EngineerGlasgow - Hybrid working 3 days per week in the office£45,000 - £50,000 + benefitsFantastic new permanent opportunity for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer with a broad background within security engineering and operations for a specialist financial services analytics business based in Glasgow.Benefits:

About the Role:As a specialist Cyber Security Engineer, you will work as part of their DevSecOps team based in Glasgow. The role will involve working closely with the wider technology teams to enhance their cyber maturity. It also provides the opportunity to contributetowards the implementation and management of various security technologies. You will ideally have come from a good security operations background and will be keen to learn new skills such as DevOps tools and technologies.Responsibilities of a Cyber Security Engineer:
  • Analyse security events and incidents
  • Design SIEM security use cases
  • Implement security controls
  • Proactively scan vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate on secure development practices
  • Configure security tools
  • Mature incident management processes
  • Identify, assess, manage information security risks
  • Conduct internal security audits
  • Develop security awareness training
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders on security matters
Essential Skills:
  • Work effectively in a high-performing team
  • Experience adapting to various security technologies, including private and cloud infrastructure
  • Technical expertise in SIEM, SOAR, IDPS, DDoS, Malware Protection, Vulnerability Management, and Application Security
  • Knowledge of Information Security frameworks
  • Problem-solving for complex issues
  • Experience in threat hunting and anomaly detection
Desirable Skills:
  • Understanding of ISO27001 and SOC2 frameworks
  • Experience in a SOC environment
  • Microsoft 365 Defender / Azure security experience
  • Enterprise infrastructure experience
Exp/Requirements:
  • 2-3 years as a security engineer or working with tools such as SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint detection & response (EDR), applications security, identity and access management
  • Experience in deploying and managing security infrastructure
