  • contributes to the sites sales development, through the delivery of a pro-active and comprehensive customer service experience, to existing and potential customers.
  • participates in the contribution of the Customer Service Department, to achieve key business targets and performance criteria.
Key job requirements Key responsibilities will include:
  • Work closely with the internal and external sales team to maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Act as point of contact for designated existing customers and potential customers.
  • Provide a positive impression of yourself and the organisation to the customer.
  • Provide excellent communication channels both internally and externally.
  • Raise new specifications in line with customer requirements ready for commercial department and request samples when required.
  • Raise new specifications and process new artworks and tooling for new and amended specifications.
  • Obtain purchase orders and invoice the customer for all new tooling.
  • To process sales orders, amendments and cancellations in a timely and efficient manner whilst keeping customers fully informed.
  • Checking orders in line with internal procedures.
  • To monitor customer forecasts to place stock orders, regularly review stock levels in line with customer agreements and business KPI’s.
  • Managing stock levels (where applicable) in line with customer agreements.
  • Process purchase orders for items that are bought from other sites within the Group/ Sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with internal departments and the customer to ensure where possible customer delivery dates are met.
  • Liaise with customers to collect pallets and top boards where applicable.
  • Use all functionality of the Navision and IT systems to perform your job.
  • Maintain filing systems and ensure workstation and surrounding areas are kept tidy.
  • To provide effective holiday and absence cover for administration-based tasks, including communicating with the customer and placing orders.
  • Provide cover in lunchtime breaks to ensure customer service is maintained, this may include reception on occasions.
Skills and experience required for this role are:
  • Proven in providing exceptional customer service in previous job history.
  • A confident and articulate individual who will be able to offer high levels of personal drive and focus.
  • Excellent customer relationship building skills with the ability to communicate professionally (in writing and on the phone).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Flexible thinking and self-motivated.
  • Possess excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively within an established team.
  • Passionate, hardworking and well organised, with power to prioritise and multitask.
