Job Description

Our client, a highly respected public sector organisation based in Barrhead, require a Customer Service Assistant - Reception on a temporary basis for 6 weeks with the possibility of extending. The salary for the role is £10.79 per hour. Hours of workare Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm, 35 hours per week.Applicants must have a minimum Basic level Disclosure certificate issued within the last 12 months.Main purpose of role:Working in a busy reception area, providing excellent customer service face to face, via telephone, email and webchat.Key Responsibilities:

  • Working in a fast paced environment providing a quality service to all customers be they face to face, via the telephone, in writing, via email or the website
  • Welcome visitors and customers to the building; effectively and thoroughly processing enquiries and complaints, ensuring all visitors are recorded according to Health & Safety procedures
  • Efficiently and effectively operate a number of IT systems including: Customer Record Management System, Q-Matic, email, internet, Cisco Switchboard System, Outlook appointment calendars
  • Deal with and respond to general customer service enquires at the first point of contact and via our customer services mailboxes
  • Pro-active in ensuring that the reception area is welcoming, tidy and that all IT equipment is operational and that non-operational/faulty equipment is reported to IT
  • Receive/sign for hand delivered mail and deliveries of stationery, equipment and furniture etc. arranging for collection by the addressee immediately after receipt or conveying to the mailroom
  • Promote our digital services by assisting customers in the use of the self-service gadget bars and assisting in the recording of the uptake of this service
  • Any other duties as are consistent with the job purpose and grade of the post
Key Skills and Requirements:
  • Experience of delivering excellent Customer Service
  • Ability to deal with customer enquiries and complaints showing sympathy and sensitivity where appropriate
  • Experience of working in a telephony based environment
  • Experience of meeting and greeting customers in a face-to-face environment
  • Excellent IT skills with experience and operation of multiple IT systems to deliver services
  • Ability to deal confidently and tactfully with people at all levels
  • Good Organisational skills
  • Ability to process information effectively
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to be flexible in approach
