As a Barclays C# Developer, you will be part of Market Risk Technology that develops systems that calculate the daily Value at Risk and non-DVaR risk measures for Barclays and supports the Risk Management group in their daily risk-management activities.The team are developing a new strategic risk calculation platform called Variance catering for all asset classes. It provides risk manager and trading desks with risk and stress information through reports and interactive python environment. What will you be doing• Gathering development work, quality control and user support • Helping drive technical solutions and project work • Involvement in all aspects of software development life cycle • Reporting to the development lead on the progress of development and user support tasks in daily Scrum meetings • Assiting users when problems arise What were looking for:• Excellent development skills in one of (or both) F# or/and C# • Practical experience of project delivery • Good time management, prioritisation and ability to meet deadlines • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels Skills that will help you in the role:• Familiar with UI/Web development • Familiar with any functional language, e.g. F#, Scala, Haskell, Clojure • Familiar with NoSQL database solutions, e.g. MongoDB • Experience of working in an Investment Bank Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
